Sean is one of the best known and most respected illustrators in modern comics. A multiple Eisner winner, Sean has worked for all of the major UK and US comic publishers in a career spanning over 30 years.
Part of the so called British Invasion of the 1980s, his work on HELLBLAZER for DC’s now defunct Vertigo imprint gave him his break into American comics. Sean went on to work in both American and British comics illustrating (amongst others) JUDGE DREDD, WILDC.A.T.S and the fan-favourite MARVEL ZOMBIES.
However, Phillips is probably best known for his collaborations with Ed Brubaker. Their hard-boiled, creator-owned series – heavily influenced by film noir – have thrilled readers for 20 years. SLEEPER, FATALE, INCOGNITO and of course CRIMINAL (soon to be an Amazon show) are hugely popular and never fail to deliver.
