To Be Continued… [TBC…] is a two-day Comics, Manga and Serial Fiction event that will
be held in Bedford in September 2024. Organised by a passionate group of fans and
industry professionals, we are committed to celebrating genre fiction in its many forms,
and to inspiring the next generation of readers.
1) TBC… will be an open, inclusive event where everyone feels welcome. Encouraging
newer or younger readers to further explore genre fiction and to experience different
ways to enjoy stories is our guiding principle.
2) TBC… will provide a safe-space where diversity is encouraged and celebrated. It is our
belief that stories are for everyone regardless of age, race, gender or sexual orientation.
3) We will look beyond the two-days of the convention and – through donating books,
comics and manga to libraries and schools – we will provide access to genre fiction for the
next generation of readers and encourage established readers to try something new!
4) TBC… will address the financial barrier for those with less disposable income through a
series of initiatives including:
Minimal entry charges for children and students.
Issuing free tickets to local schools.
Free panels/events over the weekend of the convention in conjunction with Bedford
Central Library.
5) Our guests will help us explore and celebrate the crossovers, shared influences and
common themes running through Anime/Manga, Comic Books and Serial Fiction. This
shared lineage will inform our panels and workshops.
6) By linking TBC… with other local businesses and institutions, we plan to highlight what
an amazing town Bedford is.
