Alison Sampson

Artist

Alison Sampson is a London-based artist, who sometimes writes, making comics for the likes of Image Comics (e.g. Redacted, Redacted (both current works), Department of Truth, Hit-Girl: India, Winnebago Graveyard (co-created with Steve Niles), a whole load of comic covers), EC Comics (with redacted), Marvel (Werewolf By Night, Jessica Jones), Dark Horse (HellBoy, Creepy), IDW (Sleeping Beauties/ Stephen King), Z2 (Iron Maiden, Halestorm, Tori Amos (four Eisner nominations in 2023, no wins)). She’s worked with Trina Robbins (Won’t Back Down) and has drawn covers for just about everyone but Marvel, and recently got to make a bucket list item, her first cover for 2000AD. Alison is also a chartered architect and spent her formative years as site architect on things like the O2, Oxford Brookes University and as conservation specialist on a series of 20th century landmarks as well as writing the design guide for Kings Cross train station (sorry). She thinks the aroma of concrete going off smells like the future.
